The suspect in the case of the assault of an eight‑year‑old boy in Balkhash has been detained, but has filed a counter‑complaint, Orda.kz reports.
The press service of the Qaraganda Region Police Department said the suspect is currently in a temporary detention facility.
At the same time, police are reviewing the statement made by the detainee himself. He claims the boy allegedly harassed his daughter.
All possible versions and arguments from both sides are being verified. Other information is not disclosed in the interests of the investigation,
the department noted.
Recently, Balkhash resident Madina Dosymbekova made a public statement on social media. According to her, her eight‑year‑old son was assaulted by an adult man, an employee of Kazakhmys JSC.
The boy’s mother also claimed the man has connections in the police, hospitals, and other government bodies, and that the case is allegedly being “covered up.”
She called on the public to raise awareness and demanded a fair investigation.
The case later took on new details, as the victim’s mother responded to the sexual abuse allegations mentioned in the counter‑complaint.
She confirmed that investigator Raushan Samatova had contacted her in connection with the case:
She contacted me as part of the criminal case initiated against my child on the fact of an alleged offense under Part 4 of Article 102 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan (“Sexual Assault” — Ed.). I have many questions for the investigation, the mother wrote on social media.
Police clarified that the case was not opened against the boy personally, but rather to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
According to the mother, the alleged victim in this counter‑case — the suspect’s daughter — was only sent for a formal examination a week after the events in question.
Why weren’t the necessary medical examinations and investigative actions carried out immediately? Where were the urgent measures, child protection, prompt action? she asked.
She also expressed doubts about the impartiality of the investigation, claiming that on the day of the incident, the girl was examined at home by the suspect’s relatives, who are doctors, instead of being taken to a hospital.

Meanwhile, the suspect’s family has presented its own version of events. The detainee’s wife described the situation as “a family tragedy, not a crime.” The boy is her nephew.
According to her, her husband acted in a state of shock after allegedly finding a disturbing scene: their young daughter lying without underwear, with her nephew on top of her and his shorts pulled down.
She insisted that her husband was not cruel and did not torture the boy, denying claims about broken fingers and burns as “lies.” The family is now awaiting the results of forensic examinations and the upcoming trial.
Police have stated that all versions are being checked as the investigation continues.
