Inspectors at Altyn-Emel National Park have captured a rare and touching moment: a chick of the endangered steppe eagle attempting its first flight, Orda.kz reports.

“Although it has little experience yet, in time it will surely become a true master of the skies,” park staff noted.

The steppe eagle is listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book as a rare and protected species. In June, chicks of this majestic bird hatched in the park’s Basshin forestry, where their nest was first discovered.
