Stati Case: National Bank Returns $80 Million in Frozen Assets
The National Bank Chair, Timur Suleimenov, announced the return of 80 million dollars previously frozen as part of the Stati case, an Orda correspondent reports.
The case was considered in several jurisdictions at once.
The investigation was conducted in Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Luxembourg, and arbitration and civil proceedings were underway in other countries.
The frozen assets of the National Fund, which were blocked about 10 years ago, have been returned. This is about 80 million dollars. The assets were frozen as a result of events of long ago, and as part of the settlement, these funds are now again under the control of the National Fund of Kazakhstan, Suleimenov said in the corridors of the Majilis.
