One single-point mooring unit (SPU) at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal has resumed operation, Orda.kz reports.
The two SPUs used to ship Kazakhstan's oil had previously been shut down following regulatory claims from Rostransnadzor.
On April 9, the consortium announced the restart of SPU-1 at the Novorossiysk sea terminal, in line with a decision from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
The CPC-1 single-point mooring unit has been put into operation. Oil is being loaded through the CPC-1 single-point mooring unit and the CPC-3 single-point mooring unit, the statement said.
The second unit, SPU-2, remains offline. Its reactivation is expected to be announced at a later date.
Both mooring units had been suspended following an unscheduled inspection, but a Novorossiysk court overturned the decision on April 4, issuing only a 200,000-ruble fine. Despite initial concerns, the temporary shutdowns have not significantly impacted Kazakhstan's oil exports via the CPC pipeline.
