A camera trap in the Katon-Karagai National Park captured rare footage of a snow leopard with three cubs, Orda.kz reports.
Such observations are considered exceptional, because seeing the offspring of this elusive predator in the wild is extremely rare.
Snow leopard cubs stay with their mother for about two years. During this period, they learn to hunt, navigate mountainous terrain, and avoid threats—making this footage especially valuable for scientists and conservation services.
The national park emphasizes that the appearance of offspring indicates favorable conditions for the reproduction of rare and endangered species.
Each case is seen as a result of the systematic and painstaking work of the park staff, who are dedicated to preserving the region’s unique ecosystem.
The footage was obtained by Zhomart Amanbayev, a ranger at Katon-Karagai National Park.
