Snow Leopard Captured on Camera in Turkistan Region’s Sairam-Ugam National Park

A camera trap in the Sairam-Ugam State National Nature Park in the Turkistan region captured footage of a snow leopard, Orda.kz reports.
According to the park administration, this is the second time this year the rare animal, listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book of endangered species, has been recorded on camera.
The snow leopard is renowned for its slender, flexible body, short yet powerful legs, and an exceptionally long tail, which aids in maintaining balance on steep, rocky slopes.
Including its tail, the animal's total length reaches 2 to 2.3 meters, and it can weigh up to 55 kilograms.
