In the Pavlodar region, KTZ employees said they work in flooded premises with the smell of sewage. A local blogger reported on the situation at the Aksu‑1 station, Orda.kz reports.
Sergey Nikitin published a video on social media and described the conditions in which, according to the employees themselves, they have to work.
It's not a basement – it's the actual work premises. Everything is flooded, sewer backups, the smell of feces. People come here to work every day. According to them, they have already complained, asked, waited, but no one listened. I sincerely ask KTZ: not to punish the workers, but to help them.Nikitin said.
The footage shows the station building looks half‑ruined. Inside there is water and garbage; outside there is ice and puddles. According to the workers, they have to reach their workplace literally through puddles.
Spring came unexpectedly...
KTZ confirmed that the building was flooded. The company said the cause was a sharp warming and melting snow.
Due to the sharp warming and intense snowmelt, flooding occurred. The situation was aggravated by a sewage blockage and a pump failure caused by waste from a nearby laundry.KTZ reported.
Since March 12, work has been underway on site: water is being pumped out, pipes have been cleaned, and a new pump installed. About 50 people were brought in, sand was delivered, and motor pumps were set up. KTZ said that as of March 24, the water inflow has stopped and there is no longer a threat of flooding.
