Artyk Dosaliyev has set a new national record in Shymkent by pulling five railway carriages weighing a combined 120 tons over a distance of 21 meters and 40 centimeters, Orda.kz reports, citing 24.kz.
Dosaliyev dedicated the feat to the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, honoring the memory of Kazakhstan’s wartime heroes.
On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory, I wanted to set this record as a tribute to the spirit of our heroic ancestors. I dedicate my record to them, Dosaliyev said after completing the challenge.
Dozens of spectators and a Kazakhstan Book of Records representative, Bakhytzhan Tastulekov, witnessed the event.
According to organizers, the track was carefully checked beforehand, with surface levels confirmed using a building level and the distance measured by tape. Record official Bakhytzhan Tastulekov confirmed the result as fully valid.
Dosaliyev is one of Kazakhstan’s most decorated power athletes, holding the title of master of sports in powerlifting, five world championships, two European titles, and eight Asian championship wins. And he’s not stopping yet — Dosaliyev announced plans to break another record next year, aiming to pull six, seven, or possibly even 20 wagons.
Another standout figure in Kazakhstan’s strength scene, Bauyrzhan Kamaliyev from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, recently set his own record. As part of the Nauryz celebrations, Kamaliyev pulled a Mi-17 military helicopter 15 meters. Previously, he has hauled locomotives, airplanes, and SUVs. Kamaliyev credits his success to rigorous training and determination — even when the equipment didn’t always cooperate during practice.
