The Prosecutor General's Office investigated the Department of Internal State Audit in Shymkent, uncovering a series of serious irregularities, Orda reports.
Investigators identified 59 legal violations, with 52 of them involving potential misconduct.
The investigation exposed several concerning practices within the department.
Auditors were found to be showing favoritism toward certain suppliers during the complaint resolution process.
They had also approved single-source contracts and failed to address violations discovered during audits.
Additionally, the department repeatedly ignored mandatory compliance notifications.
The findings led to disciplinary action against six department officials, including the deputy head of Shymkent's internal state audit department.
