In Shymkent, the director of LLP “G…” and deputy chairman of JSC “Fund for Financial Support of Agriculture” — and board member — Murat Iskakov were convicted, Orda.kz reports.
According to the investigation, from 2017 to 2018, the defendants, acting in a group with others by prior conspiracy, stole 430.6 million tenge.
The fund allocated money for the construction of apple orchards of the SPK 'Alma bau bakshalar' and SPK 'Ontustik bau bakshalar.' Iskakov, holding a position in the state fund, had the status of a person equal to a civil servant, and used this position to misappropriate budget funds,
the court said.
In addition, in 2019, the director of the LLP, together with accomplices, fraudulently obtained 255.3 million tenge from the Shymkent budget. These funds were intended to subsidize gardening farms.
In both cases, the damage to the state was recognized as particularly large.
The court found both guilty. The prosecutor’s office pushed for prison terms. The director of the LLP requested a more lenient sentence, while Iskakov sought acquittal.
The director of the LLP was sentenced to eight years in prison, confiscation of property, and a five-year ban on holding management positions in commercial organizations. Murat Iskakov received eight years in prison and a lifetime ban on working in the public sector.
The court considered the presence of minor children as a mitigating circumstance. The verdict has not yet entered into force.
