Shymkent Launches New International Flights to Europe, Africa, and East Asia

Starting May 27, residents of Shymkent will be able to fly to new international destinations across Europe, Africa, and East Asia, Orda.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Transport.
According to the ministry, the new routes will operate from the modern terminal at Shymkent International Airport, which opened in December 2024. The first flights — to Munich and Budapest — will take off on May 27, with each route operating twice a week:
- Shymkent – Munich: Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Shymkent – Budapest: Tuesdays and Saturdays
More international flights will follow starting May 29:
- Shymkent – Shanghai: Mondays and Thursdays (twice a week)
- Shymkent – Seoul: Mondays and Thursdays (twice a week)
- Shymkent – Cairo: Initially, Thursdays only; from June 24, flights will operate on Mondays and Thursdays
Two flights to China will be launched in July:
- From July 2: Shymkent – Xi’an, Wednesdays and Saturdays
- From July 4: Shymkent – Urumqi, Tuesdays and Fridays
