Sherzat Polat: Under What Articles Is Case Being Investigated?

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan responded to a deputy's inquiry about the progress of the investigation into the killing of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat in Talgar, Orda.kz reports.
The case is being considered under five articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including Article 99: Part 2, "Intentional Homicide," Article 293, Part 3: "Hooliganism," Article 115: "Threat," Article 432: "Concealing a Crime," and Article 434: "Failure to Report a Crime."
Commenting on the progress of the investigation, Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov confirmed that it is under his supervision. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs's central office are working at the scene of the incident.
At present, eight people have been detained on suspicion of intentional homicide, and three have been arrested on charges of failure to report a crime.
The investigation is ongoing. The involvement of other persons present at the scene of the incident is being investigated, and their actions will be legally assessed. In general, the situation with crime in the country is stable, and the internal affairs agencies, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, continue to work to ensure law and order together with interested state agencies, added Sadenov.
16-year-old Sherzat Polat was killed on the night of October 4. His family's house was burned down on October 12. Police held a press conference to dispel rumors on October 15.
