They promise to complete it by mid-October, Orda.kz reports.
A new house is being built for the family of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat, who was killed in Talgar. The family’s lawyer, Meirzhan Shekeyev, reported that the construction is funded entirely by a philanthropist named Askar.
Initially, the sponsor did not want his assistance made public, but Shekeyev emphasized that “the people should know their heroes.”
A real hero. But the people should know their heroes. The Akimat of Almaty Region promised to complete the construction and help with the paperwork,
Shekeyev stated.
The Akimat of the Yenbekshikazakh District is supervising the process. All building materials and expenses are being covered by the sponsor. The new house is expected to be ready for settlement by mid-October.
Background
The family lost their home in a fire in October last year, shortly after their son’s death. At that time, they were placed under police protection, and a criminal case was opened.
On the night of October 3–4, 2024, a conflict broke out between a group of young people in Talgar. Two were injured, and Sherzat Polat later died in the hospital. The police detained those involved and promised to keep the case under special control.
Later, Sherzat Polat’s killer was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
