Sherzat Polat Homicide Case Investigation Completed, 200 Witnesses Questioned

The lawyers of the Sherzat Polat's family and the defense have already familiarized themselves with the case materials. This means the case will soon go to court, Orda.kz reports.
The criminal case file contains 62 volumes, including the conclusions of 40 forensic examinations, the statements of 200 witnesses, interrogation protocols, and eight video materials.
The parties have reviewed all the materials, they are now with the prosecutors, who will then send them to court. All suspects were subjected to on-site verification of their testimony, face-to-face confrontations between the participants in the process, as well as other investigative actions, the Almaty Region Police Department reports.
Last October, 16-year-old Sherzat Polat was killed in Talgar. The incident occurred near the store belonging to Sherzat's mother. The house of Sherzat's father later burned down.
On the night of December 9, 2024, the body of 30-year-old Nurganat Gaepbayev, Sherzat's uncle, was found on the outskirts of Talgar.
According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic examination, he committed suicide.
After Gaepbayev's funeral, Sherzat Polat's father, Karzhaubai Nurymov, was detained for disorderly conduct. Administrative and criminal cases were opened against him and his relatives.
Lawyers believe that the trial could begin as early as March.
