Sherzat Polat: Family to Change Legal Team
At a press conference on the Sherzat Polat case, lawyer Saida Taukeleva announced that the victim’s family had decided to change their legal team and relocate from Talgar, Orda reports.
Tomorrow, we plan to meet with Karzhaubay in person to clarify all the details, Taukeleva stated.
It remains unclear when the court proceedings will begin.
Public figure Aitbek Amangeldy also spoke on the matter, particularly about Sherzat's father, Karzhaubay Nurymov:
We met with Karzhaubay on January 18, after he was released following a 15-day detention. We met at the office and discussed everything. At that time, he decided to go on a trip to Uzbekistan with his family. We were glad because he needed time to process everything that had happened. We tried not to disturb him unnecessarily.
Amangeldy added that the legal team is unaware of whom Nurymov was in contact with during this period or what he experienced.
The former legal team, after having studied the case materials all this time, learned of the change from third parties.
