Shchuchinsk and Borovoe to Undergo Significant Upgrades Worth 137 Billion Tenge

The government has approved a comprehensive development plan for the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe resort area covering the period from 2025 to 2029, signed into effect by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Orda.kz reports.
The plan outlines 118 projects totaling 137.2 billion tenge, targeting infrastructure improvements, enhanced transport access, digitalization initiatives, heightened security, and greater investment attraction.
Notable developments will include:
- The construction of new tourism facilities such as a water park, sports and recreation complexes, and children's centers near Lake Katarkol
- Lake Zhukey will gain camping and glamping sites and new active recreation trails
- Maloe Chebachye Beach will be upgraded with boat stations, equipment rental services, and well-maintained beaches
- New ski resorts featuring rental services, cafés, and souvenir shops will also be developed
Additionally, the area will see the construction of multi-level parking facilities, visit centers, and comfortable recreation zones.
