At the eighth meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council, more than 70 agreements worth over $15 billion were signed, Orda.kz reports.
Nurlan Zhakupov, head of the Samruq-Qazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund, held talks with leading Chinese corporations, including China Railway Group Limited, PowerChina, TBEA, CRRC, CNPC, CCCC, Huawei Technologies, China Southern Grid, and SANY Group.
The discussions focused on cooperation in energy, transport, logistics, infrastructure, and digital technologies. Particular emphasis was placed on modernizing Kazakhstan’s energy system, developing railway and port infrastructure, expanding renewable energy, and introducing advanced technological solutions.
As part of the visit, President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev and Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang also launched a key Samruq-Qazyna project — a wind turbine component plant in the Jambyl region.
The opening ceremony was held via teleconference. This is the first facility of its kind in Kazakhstan, developed in partnership with SANY Renewable Energy, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of wind energy equipment.
