Chair of the Board of JSC Samruq-Qazyna, Nurlan Zhakupov, has responded to recent remarks by Majilis deputy Adil Zhubanov, who suggested liquidating the national wealth fund.
Orda.kz reports that Zhakupov disagrees with the proposal, citing the fund’s strategic role.
The Supreme Audit Chamber is currently conducting a formal audit of Samruq-Qazyna.
As for the dissolution of Samruq-Qazyna, I believe that these statements are incorrect. There are a number of reasons for this. Samruq-Qazyna performs the function of managing the assets it owns. And the main goal is to increase the value of these assets under management. And the payment of corresponding state dividends to the government,
Zhakupov stated while speaking on the sidelines of Aqorda.
According to Zhakupov, Samruq-Qazyna has paid 2.2 trillion tenge in taxes. In addition, 1.4 trillion tenge has been transferred to the state in the form of payments.
