On March 17, a civil lawsuit filed by Aitbek Amangeldy against Kuandyk Bishimbayev was transferred to the Supreme Court, Orda.kz reports.
The case details appeared on the Judicial Cabinet portal, confirming the legal action against the former Minister of Economy.
While the specific amount of compensation sought has not been disclosed, the lawsuit is reportedly connected to material and moral damages in the homicide case of Saltanat Nukenova.
Amangeldy is seeking to secure a significant financial claim against Bishimbayev, potentially complicating any early release efforts by the former official.
Back in August 2024, Amangeldy publicly stated that Nukenova’s family intended to pursue legal action through civil proceedings to claim compensation from Bishimbayev.
