Sabyndy Gas Explosion: Seven in Intensive Care

According to the Astana Health Department, doctors examined the patients injured in the gas explosion at the former mosque in Sabyndy, Orda.kz reports.
A team of traumatologists and burn specialists have been brought in.
Of the 16 injured, 13 are adults and three are children. Seven patients are in the intensive care unit, and another seven were placed in a department of City Hospital No. 1 in Astana.
The preliminary diagnosis in adults is thermal burns of varying degrees of flame. Three children with thermal burns of 25-30% of the body were hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Children's Hospital No. 2 in Astana, the message says.
The health department added that the patients are being provided with all necessary medical care, and information will be updated as their condition changes.
On Sunday, November 17, a gas explosion occurred in a former mosque in the Aqmola region. Three people died.
Local authorities are providing all the necessary aid. The research and testing fire laboratory of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Aqmola region and Astana will investigate the cause of the explosion. The department clarified that the source was a gas-air mixture. First responders removed six gas cylinders; there were seven in total.
An operational headquarters is operating at the Aqmola Region Department of Emergency Situations.
