According to Ukrainian authorities, Russian forces carried out a massive nighttime strike on Ternopil on November 19, Orda.kz reports.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said at least 19 people were killed and 66 were injured, including 16 children. Two nine-story apartment blocks were hit — one caught fire, while floors collapsed in the other. Rescue operations continue as emergency crews search the rubble.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said 500 rescuers and over 100 units of equipment are working at the site.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the destruction in Ternopil, emphasizing the urgency of rescue efforts:
“Every minute can save a life. All services are working to find and evacuate the victims.”
Zelenskyy also reported that Russia launched more than 470 attack drones and 48 missiles of various types across Ukraine — one of the largest waves of strikes in recent months.
Other regions were also hit. In Ivano-Frankivsk, three people — including two children — were wounded.
Fires broke out in the Lviv region at warehouse sites covering over 10,000 square meters. Additional strikes targeted the Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, and Kharkiv regions.
In Kharkiv, dozens were injured, among them children, and critical energy and transport infrastructure sustained damage.
