Russia wants clarity on Trump's proposed "deal" before discussing any end to the Ukraine war, Russian Deputy U.N. Ambassador Dmitry Polyanskiy said on January 22, Orda reports, citing Reuters.
This comes after Trump warned he would impose extensive sanctions and tariffs on Russian exports if Moscow rejects the agreement.
It's not merely the question of ending the war, Polyanskiy told Reuters,
He also emphasized that Russia wants to address what it sees as the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis, suggesting Trump could end Washington's "malicious policy" toward Russia.
While Trump has promised to end the war swiftly, he has yet to present a detailed peace plan for Ukraine.
