The Board of Directors of JSC Almaty City Development Center has approved Ruslan Berdenov as its new Chair of the Management Board, Orda.kz reports.
The Almaty Akimat confirmed the appointment. Blogger Beibit Alibekov had earlier shared the news on social media.
The Almaty City Development Center plays a key role in shaping the city’s sustainable development strategy. It operates as a think tank, project office, and communications platform, supporting the Akimat in implementing projects in infrastructure, transport, ecology, and digitalization.
Finally, we’ll be able to communicate all ideas as quickly as possible and, hopefully, launch them. Public transportation, traffic jams, investment, tourism, wrote Alibekov.
Ruslan Berdenov previously served as Deputy Mayor of Shymkent, where he was responsible for economic and infrastructure issues. He became widely known following an armed attack in April 2025, when he survived five gunshots fired by his former subordinate, Yernar Zhiembay.
