Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon has claimed that December 30 was expected to have a "historic meeting that would end the hot phase of the war between Ukraine and Russia."
However, he did not provide further details or specify the source of this information.
Meanwhile, Kremlin Spokesperson Dimitry Peskov dismissed the alleged rumors, stating there are such conditions for this.
He also stated Putin has no international contacts scheduled for December 30, according to Forbes Russia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative, Maria Zakharova, also explained to RBK that the flight Gordon had based his assumption on was carrying out the rotation of the diplomatic mission.
The aircraft in question is an Il-96-300 with tail number RA-96023.
FlightRadar24 indicates that on Wednesday, December 25, it flew from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
The next day, it traveled to New York, then to Washington, and on December 28, it returned to New York before heading back to Moscow later that same day.
