Aruzhan Koyshubaeva has accused her husband, Kazakh rapper Qurt (real name Damir Koishubayev), of domestic violence, Orda.kz reports.
She has claimed that he physically assaulted her with a belt and threatened her.
On the night of July 4, Koyshubaeva published a detailed Instagram post describing the alleged assault and included photos showing bruises, abrasions, and hematomas on her body.
According to her, the incident occurred on the morning of June 27, 2025.
He hit me with a belt for an hour. When the belt broke, he took another one. I couldn't run away, I screamed that they were killing me. Only the neighbors, hearing my screams, saved me,
she wrote.
She later claimed that the rapper planned to leave the country and that one of his acquaintances — who supposedly has a criminal background — had sent her threats.
One of the messages, she said, read:
“Little b****, don't provoke me. I have a long reach, I can get you.”
Koyshubaeva also alleged that Qurt returned with friends and attempted to force her to record a video stating she had no complaints against him.
She also said his mother pressured her to withdraw her statement. Despite the alleged intimidation, Aruzhan documented the injuries, filed a police report, and began raising funds for legal representation.
The incident has prompted a response from within Kazakhstan’s music community. Musician SayMo and Aitbek Amangeldy, the brother of Saltanat Nukenova, both publicly voiced support for Koyshubaeva and called for a fair investigation.
Orda.kz has requested a comment from law enforcement. At the time of publication, no response had been received.
Qurt, born in 2001, is a prominent figure in Kazakh hip-hop. He began as an independent artist before joining the Ozen collective and later the Musica36 label, founded by Scriptonite.
His discography includes the Hybrid EP with Truwer and hits such as “Bag” with Scriptonite, leading up to the release of the album Bad Habits. Orda.kz sources also claim that Qurt has previously been involved in a dispute that included allegations concerning illegal substances.
