In Qostanay, the Chair of the state inspection committee in the agro-industrial complex was sentenced, Orda.kz reports.
Darkhan Abdikarimov, who headed the State Inspection Committee in June, decided to take advantage of his official position. The official agreed with the director of an LLP to conclude a contract for the supply of pesticides against locusts for a bribe.
The court does not specify the name of the company.
In June, Abdikarimov received the first part through an intermediary – two million tenge.
Two months later, they met in a cafe, and the committee head accepted the remaining amount — 2.4 million tenge.
This bribe was for a contract to purchase pesticides, amounting to 78 million tenge.
The transfer was recorded on a surveillance camera.
Once under investigation, both defendants admitted their guilt.
In court, the prosecutor insisted on imprisonment.
Abdikarimov was sentenced to 3.5 years and the director - to three years in a medium-security penal colony. They were also banned for life from working in the civil service.
Four million tenge have already been returned to the budget, but the sentence has not yet entered legal force.
