QazaqGaz is advancing its digital transformation by implementing an interactive map system that displays subscribers with smart gas meters. The new platform enables the company to monitor excess consumption at specific addresses, streamline meter reading collection, and enhance the transparency of gas metering.
The company has completed pilot projects for digital gas metering in Shymkent, Astana, and Qaraganda.
According to QazaqGaz, the technology has effectively reduced gas losses and improved payment collection.
Building on this success, the company plans to roll out AI-powered monitoring systems across Kazakhstan.
In 2023, QazaqGaz began accepting gas connection applications through the eGov.kz portal, with online applications now accounting for 46% of all technical condition requests.
The company further expanded its digital services in December 2024 by partnering with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy to launch "Social Wallet," a pilot program offering up to 24% discount on natural gas for eligible residents receiving social assistance in Shymkent and West Kazakhstan region.
The company intends to extend this social support initiative nationwide.
