Putin to Visit Kazakhstan in Late May at Tokayev’s Invitation

Kazakhstan’s president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, held a telephone conversation with Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, the two leaders agreed that Putin would visit Kazakhstan during the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Orda.kz reports
Putin confirmed that he will attend the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. This will take place in Astana at the end of May. In turn, Tokayev invited Putin to visit Kazakhstan on a state visit during the same period. The Russian president accepted the invitation.
The leaders discussed the implementation of previous agreements and ways to further develop cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia. They also focused separately on joint trade and economic projects.
As we previously reported, Tokayev had invited Trump to Kazakhstan. At that time, the Kazakhstani and US presidents discussed the current international situation by phone, including Ukraine.
