During a Kremlin meeting with senior Russian officials, government members, and representatives of the Presidential Administration, President Vladimir Putin said the United States was taking active steps to resolve the conflict, Orda.kz reports, citing The Insider.
The U.S. administration, in my view, is making quite energetic and sincere efforts to end hostilities, resolve the crisis, and reach agreements that are in the interests of all parties involved in this conflict. This would create long-term conditions for peace between our countries, in Europe, and in the world as a whole — especially if our next step is to reach agreements on strategic offensive arms control, Putin stated.
Reports previously emerged that Donald Trump plans to propose granting Vladimir Putin access to deposits of rare earth metals, oil, and gas in exchange for ending the war in Ukraine.
The two leaders are scheduled to meet on August 15, 2025, at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska.
