Putin Declares Ceasefire During 80th Victory Anniversary Celebrations

The President of Russia has ordered a ceasefire during the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Kremlin’s website, hostilities will be suspended from midnight on May 7 until midnight on May 11.
The decision was made "based on humanitarian considerations." The Russian side expects Ukraine to support the initiative. However, in the event of ceasefire violations, the Russian Armed Forces have promised to deliver an "adequate and effective response."
The Kremlin also stated that Russia is ready for peace negotiations without preconditions and remains open to cooperation with international partners to find a solution to the crisis.
