Putin Congratulates Toqayev, Leaders Discuss Bilateral Ties and Istanbul Talks

Russian President Vladimir Putin began his conversation with Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev by extending birthday wishes, Orda.kz reports.

The two leaders then discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda and expressed satisfaction with the strong level of strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan.

They also exchanged views on the recent direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine held in Istanbul.

President Toqayev noted that events in Moscow marking the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, which he attended, were “held in a solemn atmosphere, successful and meaningful, and received a broad positive response in many countries around the world.”

Other world leaders have also sent birthday greetings to President Toqayev.

Toqayev held phone calls with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. All of them wished Toqayev continued success in his public service for the benefit of the people of Kazakhstan.

Earlier, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also called to offer warm congratulations and wish success “for the prosperity of the brotherly Kazakh people.”

During the conversation, the two leaders discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, from industrial partnerships and logistics to cultural exchange.

President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, also sent a congratulatory telegram, stating:

Thanks to your skilled leadership, friendly Kazakhstan is successfully addressing key challenges related to sustainable economic growth and the comprehensive modernization of its political system. Astana’s contribution to the international agenda is becoming increasingly visible. 

He added that Minsk highly values the warm and trusting relationship between the two countries and attaches special importance to its continued development.
