Putin Briefs Toqayev and Mirziyoyev on U.S. Talks, Discusses Trade and Upcoming Meetings

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev, during which he briefed him on the outcomes of a recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Kremlin press service, the conversation took place in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership between the two countries.
Putin shared details about the ongoing dialogue with Washington regarding a potential resolution to the war in Ukraine. Toqayev expressed appreciation for the information and voiced support for efforts aimed at finding a peaceful solution.
Beyond international matters, the two leaders also discussed bilateral cooperation, focusing on practical aspects of trade and economic collaboration, as well as the implementation of major infrastructure projects in the industrial and energy sectors.
They agreed to continue preparing for upcoming high-level events scheduled before the end of the year.
A similar conversation was held between Putin and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Mirziyoyev expressed support for diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Uzbekistan’s partnership with Russia.
Earlier, it was reported that Putin had held a three-hour meeting with Witkoff, who was sent urgently by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump has demanded a ceasefire agreement from Moscow by August 8, warning of “severe restrictions” if the deadline is not met.
