The state prosecution has requested the sentences in the criminal case against the founder of the Biz Birgemiz Qazaqstan 2030 fund, Perizat Kairat, reports Orda.kz.
She’s accused of large-scale fraud and laundering millions in stolen donations — together with her mother, Gaini Alashbayeva.
State prosecutor Madina Orazalina opened her statement by thanking the Kazakh people and acknowledging the national tradition of sadaqah — charitable giving rooted in mutual support and solidarity:
Sadaqah is not a tool for career-building. And if someone wears the mask of virtue to profit from people’s trust — they won’t get applause, they’ll get a trial. Trust is not a brand. It’s amanat. And whoever betrays the amanat will be brought to light.
The prosecution estimates that Kairat and her mother defrauded the public out of more than 3.5 billion tenge — donations given in good faith, misused on luxury purchases and self-enrichment.
The charges:
- Fraud (Article 190, part 4, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code)
- Laundering criminal proceeds on a large scale (Article 218, part 3, paragraph 3)
Prosecutor Arman Kiziken announced the sentences being sought:
- “Perizat Kairat — 10 years in a medium-security prison with confiscation of assets.”
- “Gaini Alashbaeva — 8 years, also with confiscation.”
The sentences are to be applied under Article 58 — for a combination of offenses. The final figure, Kiziken said, reflects the scale of damage and public betrayal.
The Biz Birgemiz Qazaqstan 2030 fund once presented itself as a charity. By December 2024, investigators had seized Kairat’s property: luxury homes, designer accessories, expensive cars.
In April 2025, Perizat Kairat and her mother were taken into custody. On July 9, the court decided to partially close the trial. Since then, only portions of the hearings have been open to the public.
The main trial began on July 14. Testimonies from victims and witnesses were made public, but on July 18, Kairat herself testified — behind closed doors.
Orda.kz continues to follow the case.
