Dana Sarsenbay, the state prosecutor in the trial over the homicide of Sherzat Polat, has reported the creation of fake social media accounts using her name, Orda.kz reports.
In a video posted to her official Instagram account, Sarsenbay stated that the page is her only presence on the platform and is intended solely for personal use.
All other accounts allegedly run on my behalf are fake. Using my name, position and image without my consent, especially in the context of a criminal case, is an illegal act for which liability is provided in accordance with the law, she said.
According to Sarsenbay, the fake pages have posted misleading content, including messages that urge users to follow bloggers, join surveys, or participate in giveaways. Some have also published false statements and provocative comments.
She urged social media users to be cautious and avoid clicking on links shared by these accounts, warning that they could be part of fraudulent schemes.
The verdict in the Sherzat Polat case was delivered in Taldykorgan on June 5.
