Prime Minister Criticizes Akimats for Delays in Healthcare Construction

At a government meeting, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov criticized Akimats for the delay of constructing healthcare facilities in the regions, Orda.kz reports.
Insufficient oversight by regional Akims over design and construction processes leads to delays in the implementation of the national project,
said Olzhas Bektenov.
The Prime Minister recalled that the government had already allocated more than 120 billion tenge for the construction of primary health care facilities and 31 billion tenge for the reconstruction of district hospitals. Even funds confiscated from oligarchs as part of the return of assets were invested in the project.
So far, construction has been completed in only five regions: Qostanay, Qyzylorda, Mangystau, North Kazakhstan, and Turkistan.
However, Aqtobe, Aqmola, Jambyl, Jetisu, Qaraganda, and Ulytau regions remain at risk.
In some regions, design and estimate documentation has not yet been developed, while in others, state examination of the projects has not been carried out.
The construction season that has begun must be used to the maximum extent possible to ensure timely delivery of projects,
Bektenov emphasized.
Earlier, it was reported that new medical centers in the Aqmola region would be built using funds from the Special Fund.
