Police Officers in Ulytau Region Detained on Bribery Charges

In the Ulytau region, the deputy head of the Janaarka police department and his subordinate are under investigation on suspicion of receiving a large bribe, Orda.kz reports, citing Patriot.
According to the report, a high-ranking officer and an investigator from the district police department were detained in the village of Janaarka.
The operation, carried out by DKNB officers, took place in a café.
“Five million tenge were given to them by a civilian who wanted to avoid criminal liability,” Patriot sources said.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan — “Receiving a bribe by extortion by prior conspiracy.
