Poland to Send Military Representatives to Ukraine for Anti-Drone Training, Zelenskyy Says, Polish Defense Ministry Clarifies

Polish military representatives will travel to Ukraine for consultations and training on how to shoot down Russian drones, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sept. 11, Orda.kz reports, citing The Kyiv Independent.
The announcement came a day after Poland’s Air Force downed at least three Russian drones in its airspace — the first such action since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Polish authorities recorded 19 drones crossing into the country on Sept. 10.
A source familiar with the matter also confirmed to Reuters that Polish representatives would take part in the training, although Poland’s military had not officially commented at the time.
Later, the Polish Defense Ministry confirmed that Ukrainian and Polish specialists would conduct joint training on drones and anti-drone systems, while stressing that all such exercises would be held on Polish soil.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Kyiv with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Zelenskyy said the consultations would focus on strengthening defenses against Russia’s escalating drone campaign.
