More than two billion tenge from illegally acquired assets returned to the state were allocated for implementing the project, Orda.kz reports, citing the Cabinet of Ministers press service.
Construction of a new nursery for 280 children has begun. It will be located in the Jas Orken micro-district, where three preschool institutions are currently operating and lack the needed capacity.
The construction of the nursery will reduce the shortage of places in preschool organizations and improve the accessibility of education. Today, there are about three thousand children on the waiting list for places in preschool organizations in the city, half of whom are between the ages of two and six, The Cabinet of Ministers writes.
The project became part of a program to direct returned assets to social purposes.
Such funds have financed the construction of schools, a sports complex, a rehabilitation center, and a multidisciplinary hospital in different regions of Kazakhstan.
