The Arkalan petroglyph park opened in the garden on November 15. It is located in the southern part of the garden, where a section with steppe vegetation will be in the spring.
The botanical garden explained that the petroglyph park and the steppe area would complement each other, as in the Kazakh steppe.

As the creators of Arkalan Park said, the idea came to be 3.5 years ago.
Volunteer archaeologists Olga Gumirova and Yerlan Zhagiparov came up with the idea to create the park. In January 2022, Yerlan Zhagiparov passed away during Qantar. One park area is dedicated to him.
The park is a stone set with rock paintings made by artist Sanzhar Zhubanov and sculptor Said Ainekov.
As Olga Gumirova explained, the images placed in Arkalan are mainly Turkic petroglyphs, the originals of which were collected in different regions of Kazakhstan.
