Pashinyan Updates Putin on Washington Talks

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the Armenian leader’s press secretary, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, Orda.kz reports, citing NewsArmenia.
Pashinyan briefed Putin on the results of August 8 talks in Washington, including the initialing of the “Agreement on Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” a joint appeal to the OSCE to dissolve the Minsk Group mechanisms, steps to unblock regional communications based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and reciprocity, and the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” initiative.
The prime minister expressed confidence that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan could create new opportunities for the region.
Russian President Vladimir Putin underlined the importance of measures to ensure sustainable peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Kremlin press service reported.
According to the statement, Russia reaffirmed its readiness to assist in the comprehensive normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations — including the unblocking of regional transport links — in line with the trilateral agreements reached at the highest level in 2020–2022.
The conversation took place at Armenia’s initiative.
Both sides agreed to maintain active contacts and political dialogue.
