Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to statements from Ilham Aliyev and rhetoric from Azerbaijan, stressing that peace talks are based on already signed documents, Orda.kz reports, citing NewsArmenia.AM.
We have no disagreements with Azerbaijan on peace itself — only on related issues. The UN platform exists to clarify such questions and bring our positions closer,he said.
Pashinyan added that Armenia acts as an independent political actor and does not follow external demands.
He also confirmed that discussions with the U.S. on the proposed “Trump Route” (TRIPP) transport project have begun. A U.S. delegation recently visited Armenia, and talks are ongoing, though no concrete agreements have been reached yet.
People think that the day after the Washington documents were signed, we should already be digging. It doesn’t work that way. The process must move slowly but without pauses. Design and financing are now being discussed, Pashinyan noted.
