The second meeting of the working group on parliamentary reform is scheduled for December 2, but as Yerlan Karin stated, it will be held behind closed doors, Orda.kz reports.
At Aqorda, the state adviser briefed President Toqayev on the progress of the reform. He noted that in the month since the launch of the special “Parliamentary Reform” section on e-Otinish and Egov, citizens and public figures have submitted around 300 proposals.
Six political parties—AMANAT, Auyl, Aqjol, Respublica, the People’s Party of Kazakhstan, and the OSDP — also presented their visions. They outlined possible models for a unicameral parliament and various options for expanding the powers of parliamentary parties. No specific details were disclosed.
Experts from the working group submitted their own recommendations, and the team is now compiling and analyzing all the proposals received.
Toqayev instructed that each initiative be carefully reviewed and that clear proposals for updating the parliamentary system be prepared.
