The day before, a video showing striking workers of a drilling company surfaced. They announced the suspension of production. An Orda.kz correspondent has looked into the situation.
Employees of the "Drilling Operations Department," servicing OzenMunayGas JSC, demand that the company provide jobs for the children of those oil workers who have retired or cannot continue working due to health reasons.
They also insist on paying 600 MRPs (monthly calculation indices) for workers aged 55-58 who cannot work and have retired voluntarily.
Orda received a comment from the press service of KazMunayGas, which includes OzenMunayGas JSC.
The management of OzenMunayGas is currently negotiating with the employees of the enterprise. Each point of the workers' demands is being carefully considered. Everything must be resolved in the legal field and at the legislative level, including within the framework of the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Based on their results, additional information will be provided if necessary,
the company said.
Meanwhile, the strike has caused backlash from Mangystau region residents. Under the video, social media users accused the drilling company workers of being "insatiable."

In 2023, Drilling Operations Department workers in Zhanaozen stopped work for one hour in protest against the detentions of colleagues in Astana.
