Another tranche was allocated from a special state fund where assets returned to the state are kept, Orda.kz reports.
This time, the government decided to build a dormitory in Shymkent worth 2.6 billion tenge.
The new dormitory will be near the Sairam Auxiliary Boarding School College complex.
More than 360 children currently study there, but the old dormitory, built in 1975, can only accommodate 120 people. Due to the lack of space, some classrooms are used as bedrooms, and 67 children are homeschooled.
The building will be designed for 300 places and will include blocks for boys and girls, a medical center, a canteen, playrooms, and other amenities. The new dormitory will solve the housing problem and create comfortable conditions for learning,
the government press service notes.
The Asset Recovery Committee has also financed the construction of a sports complex in the Aqmola region, a music school in the Turkestan region, a rehabilitation center for children with disabilities in Astana, and other social facilities.
