Over 30,000 Join "Batyrlarga Tagzym" Memorial March in Almaty
The "Batyrlarga Tagzym" march began in Almaty, where residents took to the streets carrying photographs of their relatives who fought in the Great Patriotic War, reports Orda.kz.
According to Orda.kz’s correspondent, the march followed Gogol Street — from Central Park to the Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen — and drew several thousand participants.
The procession was peaceful and well-organized, with participants walking in formation, many carrying national flags and Victory banners. Police officers provided security, and no incidents were reported.

Participants told Orda.kz they joined the march to honor the memory of relatives who served on the frontlines or worked in the rear during the war. The procession was divided into three columns: the first led by youth, the second by veterans of local conflicts (including peacekeepers and internationalist soldiers), and the third by Cossack representatives.
Roughly half an hour after it began, the march concluded.




According to the Almaty city administration, more than 30,000 people participated in the event.
“Batyrlarga Tagzym” — which translates as “Tribute to the Heroes” — is the official name of the commemorative event dedicated to wartime veterans. It is also known as the "Immortal Regiment" march.
The event is organized by veterans’ associations with the support of the Almaty city administration.
President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev had earlier confirmed the march would be held in Kazakhstan this year.
