Over 100 WWII Veterans in Kazakhstan, Ministry Reports

As of April 1, 2025, 111 veterans of the Great Patriotic War are living in Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Orda.kz reports.
In addition, 16,796 individuals receive the same benefits as WWII veterans, while 26,553 are classified as veterans of operations in other countries, and 39,588 are recognized as home front workers.
Since the start of the year, the government has paid out 4.3 billion tenge in benefits to all veteran categories. In 2025, a total of 17 billion tenge has been allocated in the national budget for these payments.
The Ministry's press service detailed the monthly state benefits provided from the republican budget, which are paid independently of other social assistance. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War receive 16 monthly calculation indices (MCI), amounting to 62,912 tenge.
Individuals with disabilities resulting from injuries, concussions, or illness sustained during the war receive 7.55 MCI (29,687 tenge), while those who qualify for the same benefits as veterans receive 6.19 MCI (24,339 tenge).

- Military personnel who guarded the Tajik-Afghan section of the border, took part in the international peacekeeping operation in Iraq, participated in the settlement of the interethnic conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh - 4.8 MCI (18,874 tenge)
- Home front workers during WWII are also eligible for a monthly benefit of 2.13 MCI, or 8,376 tenge.
