Breakage on heating main number 10 in Oskemen occurred on the evening of November 16, Orda.kz reports.
The incident occurred near a shopping center under construction on Satpayev Avenue in the KShT microdistrict.
Over 15 thousand consumers in the new building area were left without heat and hot water.
Specialists from JSC Shygys Jylu and regional and city Akimats employees arrived at the site.
The problem was that the pipe through which the heat was supplied was in the so-called pre-insulated version, that is, in a plastic casing. This is what made the search difficult. But now the incident site has been localized and the restoration of the system has begun, they assured.
Government officials pledged to resolve the issue promptly.
After the breakage is fixed, the heat will be supplied. During the emergency shutdown, the heating system was not defrosted. We thank residents for their understanding and ask them to remain calm; the situation is under the supervision of local executive authorities, said Deputy Akim of East Kazakhstan region, Bakytzhan Bayakhmetov.
The Akimat also reported that they had created a commission to determine the causes and that the Akim of East Kazakhstan Region, Yermek Kosherbaev, had taken the situation under his supervision.
As of the morning of November 17, residents of the micro-district claimed that heat and hot water had still not been supplied.
