OSCE Sees Kazakhstan As "Influential Middle Power"

Qasym-Jomart Toqayev received OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Elina Valtonen in Astana. He expressed support for her work, noting that she is leading the organization during a challenging period, Orda.kz reports.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act. Half a century later, this document remains the cornerstone of European security, enshrining key principles such as sovereignty, territorial integrity, and respect for human rights. Kazakhstan remains firmly committed to these fundamental values, Toqayev said.
Elina Valtonen highlighted that the OSCE places great importance on its relations with Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries.
I recognize your efforts to strengthen Kazakhstan's international standing, through which the country has established itself as an influential middle power in the region and the world. Kazakhstan's authority is strengthened, among other things, through its active participation in organizations such as the OSCE. We sincerely appreciate your active role in a difficult period, especially in the economic and environmental spheres, she said.
After the meeting, Toqayev extended warm regards to the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness for close cooperation with the country.
