Orda.kz reports on a new traveling exhibition featuring works from private European collections.
Kazakhstan will host an exhibition of 51 original lithographs by Pablo Picasso, brought from private collections in Germany, Belgium, and France.
According to the international Lumiere-Hall museum, the exhibition, titled “Pablo Picasso. Paragraphs”, will be held in two cities. It will open on August 1 in Almaty at the Almaty Gallery (Dostyq Ave., 44) and run until September 15.
It will then move to Astana, where it will be shown at the “Kulanshi” Art Center in the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation (Tauelsizdik Ave., 57) from September 25 to November 9.
At the heart of the exhibition is the “Blue Color of Barcelona” series, focused on everyday scenes. The display will also include materials documenting the creation of Guernica, one of Picasso’s most well-known anti-war works of the 20th century.
Additional sections will highlight the “Papier Collé” series, Picasso’s post-war period, and his turn to themes such as bullfighting. The exhibition concludes with the “War and Peace” series.
