Orda's Editor-in-Chief Targeted in Questionable Ownership Maneuver

On July 8, a new development unfolded in the situation surrounding Orda, the outlet founded and led by editor-in-chief Gulnara Bazhkenova.
An attempt was made to transfer control of the media without her consent.
This incident follows a series of previous pressures on the editorial team, including cyberattacks, unusual legal actions, and temporary blocking of Orda’s accounts — all of which have been covered in earlier reporting. Some past incidents appeared minor, while others were more serious in nature.
Details of the July 8 attempt remain limited for now, but Bazhkenova says the meeting was attended only by an unfamiliar lawyer.
According to Bazhkenova:
This letter is signed by Vitaly Pak. It says that there will be a meeting today to remove me from managing Orda. I was given an ultimatum to transfer the company to someone named Maksat Ganiyev, whom I don’t know. And this was done by Vitaly Pak, a lawyer…
She also noted that both Ganiyev and Pak avoided appearing on camera.
